Below you’ll find common questions about PrimeEdge Home Care’s roof cleaning, gutter clearing, and biocide treatment services across Hampshire and Berkshire. However, if you do not find your answer below, simply call or WhatsApp 07598 611 827 for a free, no-obligation consultation.

Pricing & Quotes

How much does roof cleaning cost?

Roof cleaning with PrimeEdge Home Care starts from a competitive price for a standard 3-bedroom semi-detached house. However, the final price depends on roof size, pitch, height, and how much moss covers your tiles. Furthermore, PrimeEdge gives fixed-price quotes from photos you send by WhatsApp — so you pay no hidden fees and face no surprise charges on the day.

How do I get a quote?

Simply send 3-4 photos of your roof and gutters by WhatsApp to 07598 611 827, or email info@primeedgehomecare.co.uk. Then, PrimeEdge typically replies with a fixed-price quote the same day. Also, you face no obligation and no hard-sell.

Do you charge for quotes or site visits?

No. In fact, PrimeEdge Home Care gives free, no-obligation quotes for every job. Most of the time, you’ll get your quote remotely from your photos. However, for complex roofs, PrimeEdge can arrange a free site visit at a convenient time.

What payment methods do you accept?

PrimeEdge accepts bank transfer, debit card, credit card, and cash. Also, you pay on completion of the job, not in advance. Finally, you receive a full VAT-compliant receipt for every payment.

Do I pay a deposit?

No. You pay no deposit for standard roof cleaning, gutter clearing, or biocide treatment jobs. However, for larger repair work (such as repointing or multiple tile replacements), PrimeEdge may ask for a small materials deposit in advance.

Methods & Safety

Do you use pressure washing on roofs?

No. PrimeEdge Home Care never uses high-pressure washing on roofs. Here’s why: pressure washing damages roof tiles, strips the protective surface coating, forces water under tiles, and voids most manufacturer warranties. Instead, PrimeEdge uses manual moss removal and then BAC50 biocide treatment — the safe, manufacturer-approved method.

What is BAC50 biocide?

BAC50 acts as a professional-grade biocide treatment that creates an invisible barrier on your roof tiles. It stops moss, algae and lichen from coming back because it kills dormant spores. Moreover, BAC50 carries HSE-approval, stays environmentally safe once dry, and lasts at least 12 months with a written guarantee.

Is BAC50 safe for pets, children, and plants?

Yes, once dry. PrimeEdge applies BAC50 as a fine spray, and it dries within 2-4 hours depending on the weather. During application, PrimeEdge recommends keeping pets and children indoors. However, surrounding plants and your lawn stay unaffected because PrimeEdge takes care to avoid overspray on garden areas.

How do you access tall or steep roofs safely?

PrimeEdge uses professional roof ladders, scaffolding towers, and safety harnesses depending on the property. Also, every technician holds training in Working at Height regulations, and PrimeEdge carries £2 million public liability insurance. Finally, PrimeEdge never takes on a job if we cannot finish the work safely.

Guarantee & Insurance

What does the 12-month guarantee cover?

The PrimeEdge 12-month written guarantee covers moss regrowth on cleaned and biocide-treated surfaces. So, if significant moss returns within 12 months of the treatment, PrimeEdge comes back and re-treats the affected area at no charge. Furthermore, PrimeEdge sends you the guarantee certificate by email after every completed job.

Are you insured?

Yes. PrimeEdge Home Care Ltd carries £2 million public liability insurance that covers damage to your property and injury to third parties. In addition, PrimeEdge holds full Companies House registration and gives you complete insurance documentation on request.

What happens if something is damaged during the job?

Accidental damage rarely occurs with manual cleaning. However, if it happens, PrimeEdge’s public liability insurance covers full repair or replacement. Also, PrimeEdge photographs the roof before starting work to document its pre-existing condition.

Booking & What to Expect

How long does a roof clean take?

A typical 3-bedroom semi-detached house takes 4 to 6 hours including moss removal, gutter clearing, and biocide treatment. However, larger detached homes can take a full day. Finally, PrimeEdge confirms the expected timing when sending your quote.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

No. PrimeEdge works entirely on the exterior and never needs access inside your property. However, you only need to stay home for the initial walk-around and at the end to receive your photo report and pay. In fact, many customers book PrimeEdge while at work.

How do I prepare for the roof cleaning?

You need very little preparation. However, PrimeEdge recommends moving cars off the driveway if possible (for ladder access), bringing in washing from lines, and closing windows near the roof during treatment. Also, PrimeEdge covers garden furniture and plants near the house with dust sheets.

What if it rains on the booked day?

Light rain does not affect manual moss removal, so most jobs go ahead as planned. However, heavy rain or thunderstorms will delay biocide application because it needs 2-4 hours of dry weather after spraying. In that case, PrimeEdge reschedules to the earliest dry day — usually within 1-3 days.

What do I receive after the job is done?

Every completed PrimeEdge job comes with four things. First, you get a branded before-and-after photo report by email. Next, PrimeEdge sends the signed 12-month written guarantee certificate. Also, you receive a full VAT receipt. Finally, PrimeEdge gives you maintenance tips for the next 12 months.

Other Services

Do you do repairs as well as cleaning?

Yes. Beyond cleaning, PrimeEdge offers repointing (roof and walls), tile replacement, ridge tile repairs and rebedding, fascia and soffit repairs, and horn replacement. Furthermore, we can combine these with a roof clean in a single visit, often at reduced combined pricing.

Can you clean just the gutters without the roof?

Yes. Standalone gutter clearing starts from £80. Also, it includes vacuum clearing of all gutters and downpipes, photo documentation, and a written report of any issues we find (such as loose brackets, cracks, or downpipe blockages).

Do you clean conservatory roofs or solar panels?

Yes, we clean conservatory roofs (polycarbonate or glass) with gentle hand cleaning and appropriate products. However, PrimeEdge does not currently offer solar panel cleaning. Instead, we can recommend trusted local specialists for that service.
