How we sort your chimney
- Free visit. We check the pointing, the lead, the crown and pots on top and the tiles around the stack, and give you a fixed written price. No charge for the visit and no obligation.
- Find the leak. Water around a chimney usually gets in where the lead meets the brickwork or the tiles. We find the actual spot and show you photos.
- Repoint. Crumbling mortar raked out of the stack and renewed, so the brickwork stops letting water through.
- Lead. Loose lead refixed, and worn or split lead replaced, so water runs off the roof instead of behind the stack.
- Crown and pots. A cracked crown (the mortar on top of the stack) rebuilt and loose chimney pots fixed back in place.
- Photo report. Before-and-after photos of the chimney, the part of the roof you can never see from the ground.

Why chimneys leak
A chimney sticks up above everything else on the roof, so it takes the worst of the wind and rain. Over the years the mortar crumbles and the lead lifts or splits, and water finds its way in. It often shows up as a damp patch on a bedroom ceiling or a chimney breast, a long way from where it actually gets in.
Common questions
I have a damp patch near my chimney. Is it the chimney?
Often, yes, but not always. That’s why we look first and show you photos of what we find before we price anything.
Can the lead be fixed, or does it need replacing?
If the lead is sound and just loose, we refix it. If it’s split or worn through, we replace it. We’ll tell you which on the visit.
What if you find more damage once you start?
We stop, take photos and show you before doing anything extra. Nothing gets added to the bill without you agreeing to it first.
Do I need to be at home?
Not necessarily, as long as we can get to the roof safely. You’ll get the photo report either way.
Can you do other roof work at the same time?
