How we sort your gutters

  1. Free visit. We look at the gutters, downpipes, joints and brackets and give you a fixed written price. No charge for the visit and no obligation.
  2. Cleared by hand. Moss, leaves and silt scooped out from the ladder, length by length, so the water has somewhere to go again.
  3. Downpipes checked. We make sure the water runs down and away. If a downpipe is blocked or broken, we clear it or fit a new one.
  4. Repair or replace. Leaking joints and sagging sections repaired where they can be, replaced where they can’t. It’s your call, and nothing extra is done without your OK.
  5. Photo report. Before-and-after photos of the gutters you can’t see from the ground.

Why blocked gutters matter

When a gutter fills up, the rain goes over the edge instead of into the downpipe. It runs down the walls, soaks the brickwork and the fascia boards behind the gutter, and can end up as damp inside. A gutter clear costs far less than fixing the damage it prevents.

Common questions

How often should gutters be cleared?

For most houses once a year is enough, ideally in late autumn once the leaves have come down. If you’ve got big trees nearby, twice a year is safer.

My gutter leaks at a joint. Can you fix it?

Usually, yes. We’ll look at it on the visit and tell you honestly whether a repair will do or whether that section needs replacing.

Do you fit new gutters and downpipes?

Yes. If the old ones are cracked, sagging or past repair, we fit new gutters and downpipes. You get a fixed price for it after the visit.

Do I need to be at home?

Not necessarily, as long as we can get to the gutters safely. You’ll get the photo report either way.

Can you clean the roof at the same time?

Yes, and it makes sense if there’s moss on the roof, because that’s usually what’s filling the gutters. See our roof cleaning.
