How we clean your roof
- Free visit. We come out, check the tiles, ridges and flashing, and give you a fixed written price. No charge for the visit and no obligation.
- Moss off by hand. We scrape and brush it off tile by tile. No pressure washer, so we don’t force water under the tiles or strip their surface.
- Treatment. Once it’s clean we apply a biocide treatment to kill what’s left in the joints and slow the moss coming back.
- Tidy up. The moss that falls into the gutters is cleared out, and the ground around the house is left clean.
- Photo report. You get before-and-after photos of the parts of the roof you can’t see from the ground, plus anything we spotted that needs looking at.

Why we never pressure wash a roof
A jet washer looks quick, but it blasts the surface off concrete tiles, can crack older clay ones and pushes water up under the laps where it shouldn’t be. The roof looks clean for a while and then ages faster. Doing it by hand takes longer, but your tiles stay in one piece.

How long does the moss stay away?
It depends on the roof. Shady, north-facing slopes and roofs under trees grow moss faster. The treatment slows it down a lot, and keeping the gutters clear helps too. We’ll tell you honestly what to expect for your roof.
How long does a roof clean take?
It depends on the size of the roof and how thick the moss is. We’ll tell you how long it should take when we give you the price.
Do I need to be at home?
Not usually, as long as we can get to the roof safely. You’ll get the photo report either way, so you can see exactly what was done.
What if you find broken tiles?
We take photos and tell you before doing anything extra. Nothing gets added to the bill without you agreeing to it first.
Do you work in the rain?
No. Wet, icy or very windy days aren’t safe on a roof, so if the weather turns we’ll move the job and let you know.
